News from the Comscore data mine – Webmail top in UK, Search in Germany

Oct 5, 2010 by

The best discovery from my social media feeds today (the ‘Saudi treatment’ of Mariah Carey aside – thanks @sultanalqassemi!) was that Comscore has launched a site for data freaks like myself – Comscore Data Mine

Two euro highlights to start off with.   Apparently the Brits are the leaders in web mail and the Germans in search.  The first result puzzles me a little bit…I thought social media messaging had overtaken hotmail and google mail way back in December 2007.   Anyway, here is the graph:

The second, the Germans come top of the search league table ahead of the UK.

I guess traditional web habits – webmail and search – really are alive and well, and the UK and Germany are still the places where you might want to run your search advertising campaigns.
