		<description>This is just my impression but, in France, the newspapers mentioned seem to occupy a government niche not dissimilar to the BBC in the UK. The French papers are both hated and supported by government--but the government must appear to support them as they are so widely recognised as an authority on the government. However, the French papers are directed towards an audience with a certain education and income level. Unlike the BBC, they aren&#039;t free or interactive, nor do they offer a plethora of archives for further research on a current article or topic. I think money would be better spent taking these papers and their archives online rather than buying kids free subscriptions.</description>
