The top ten virals for August
Video content distributor GoViral has released its (I assume at least partially subjective) top-ten virals of August 2009.
Top of the list is one for UK company Bensons for Beds where staff carried out a world record attempt for mattress dominoes. Bensons for Beds? I’d vaguely heard of them, but to say the least it’s not a household name.
Yet the viral has received 600k+ views, and GoViral has put Bensons for Beds above brands like Sony, Nokia and Red Bull in its viral video chart. A sign that a mixture of a great creative, the right targeting, the right timing and also a lot of luck, can really get even smaller brands the same sort of attention enjoyed by the A-listers.
